GABA Red Coral

Red Coral GABA is a richly oxidized GABA oolong with a deep, velvety profile that bridges the worlds of dark oolong and elegant Taiwanese red tea. Crafted from carefully selected leaves and processed through oxygen-free fermentation — a technique pioneered in Japan in the late 1980s — this tea naturally develops elevated levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), valued for its calming, centering, and clarity-enhancing qualities.

Warm, enveloping, and quietly luxurious, Red Coral GABA offers a dense yet exceptionally smooth infusion with evolving layers that reveal themselves gradually across multiple steeps. Equally suited for focused gongfu sessions or long thermos brewing, it creates a comforting, almost meditative tea experience.

Why you’ll love it

Aroma: deep and dessert-like, with notes of dried fruit, warm bread, cocoa, and caramelized honey
Flavor: full-bodied and silky, unfolding with shades of red berries, dark chocolate, baked fruit, and roasted sweetness
Character: rich, calming, and refined — combining the depth of aged oolong with the elegance of premium Taiwanese red tea

GABA Content: ~150 mg per 100 g

Health Benefits (gentle, everyday support)

GABA Oolong offers a unique blend of GABA, L-theanine, and polyphenols, making it a functional tea for both body and mind. Enjoy it for:

  • Relaxation and emotional balance
  • Improved concentration and mental clarity
  • Mild blood pressure support
  • Gentle warmth and meditative focus

How to Brew GABA Oolong

Gaiwan Method (refined and expressive)

  • Preheat your teaware
  • Use 5 g per 100 ml of water at 90–100°C
  • Rinse briefly, then steep for 5–10 seconds, increasing time with each infusion
  • Suitable for 7–10 infusions, revealing evolving layers of aroma and depth

Thermos — Best for convenience and smoothness

GABA tea tolerates long steeps better than green tea. Slow extraction gives a thick, mellow, calming liquor. Perfect for work, travel, or sipping for hours.

  • 2–3g per 500ml
  • 85–90°C water
  • Drink after 10–15 minutes; it stays stable for hours

Steeping or Cooking (Lu Yu’s method)

  • Use 1 g per 100 ml of water at 90–100°C
  • Simmer gently or steep for 3–5 minutes
  • Ideal for exploring the tea’s full-bodied warmth and complexity
