Jin Jun Mei (Golden Eyebrow) Black Tea — Honeyed, velvety, and deeply aromatic
Harvested as tiny spring buds in Fujian province in southeastern China, our Jin Jun Mei is hand-rolled into fine golden strands that unfurl into a plush, amber cup. Expect natural honey sweetness, cocoa-malt depth, and a long, fruity finish that lingers like warm caramel.
Why you’ll love it
Signature flavor: wildflower honey, cocoa, baked sweet potato, and hints of dried longan.
Silky body: layered, velvety texture with low astringency when brewed right.
Bud-only luxury: made exclusively from tender spring tips for exceptional sweetness and aroma.
Health benefits (gentle, everyday support)
Jin Jun Mei is rich in tea polyphenols (notably theaflavins/thearubigins) plus L-theanine alongside moderate caffeine. Fans enjoy it for:
- Calm, focused energy (theanine + caffeine synergy)
- Antioxidant support to help counter daily oxidative stress
How to Brew Jin Jun Mei
Gaiwan Method (traditional, refined)
- Preheat your gaiwan with hot water, then discard.
- Measure about 5 g of leaves (roughly a heaped teaspoon) for a 100–120 ml gaiwan.
- Rinse the tea quickly: pour in hot water (75–80 °C), swirl for 2–3 seconds, then discard. This “awakens” the leaves.
- Infuse
- First pour: 8–10 seconds
- Second pour: 10 seconds
- For later infusions, adjust steeping time: lengthen if you prefer more body, shorten if it tastes too strong or bitter.
A gaiwan allows multiple resteeps (4–6 infusions), each revealing a different side of Jin Jun Mei flavor.
Teapot Method (simple and familiar)
- Preheat a small teapot (200–300 ml) with hot water, then discard.
Measure 5–6 g of tea leaves. - Infuse with water at 75–80 °C for 1.5–2 minutes.
- Resteep 2–3 times, adding 30–45 seconds with each infusion.
