Hand-rolled green tea pearls (Mo Li Long Zhu) scented with fresh jasmine, with refreshing, soothing effects, featuring notes of jasmine blossom, honey, and sweet grass.
Crafted from tender green buds and young leaves, hand-rolled into tight round pearls and scented over several nights with fresh jasmine flowers. The pearls are silvery-green with downy tips and slowly unfurl in the cup. An intense, sweet jasmine fragrance balanced by a smooth green-tea body is the main characteristic of this variety.
Profile: This batch has a flavor profile highlighted by pronounced jasmine-floral and sweet, tender-green notes.
Aroma: Sweet and fresh, with hints of blooming jasmine, honey, and spring greens. Warmed pearls release a lush floral perfume that fills the room, becoming softer and creamier as they open.
Flavor: Smooth and delicate, with natural sweetness and hints of jasmine, honey, and fresh greens. The aftertaste is clean, floral, gently sweet, and long-lasting, with only the faintest astringency.
Effects: Refreshes, soothes, and calms the mind while gently lifting the mood.
How to Brew
Gaiwan Method (traditional, refined)
- Preheat your gaiwan with hot water, then discard.
- Measure about 5 g of leaves (roughly a heaped teaspoon) for a 100–120 ml gaiwan.
- Rinse the tea quickly: pour in hot water (75–80 °C), swirl for 2–3 seconds, then discard. This “awakens” the leaves.
- Infuse:
-
- First pour: 8–10 seconds
- Second pour: 10 seconds
- For later infusions, adjust steeping time: lengthen if you prefer more body, shorten if it tastes too strong or bitter.
Teapot Method (simple and familiar)
- Preheat a small teapot (200–300 ml) with hot water, then discard.
- Measure 5–6 g of tea leaves.
- Infuse with water at 75–80 °C for 1.5–2 minutes.
- Resteep 2–3 times, adding 30–45 seconds with each infusion.
