Long Ten 2023 Sheng Pu‑erh Tea Cake – Designated Edition (Yunnan Chi Tse Beeng Cha)
Crafted in Yunnan and wrapped in traditional Chi Tse Beeng Cha style, this 2023 Sheng Pu‑erh tea cake represents the refined craftsmanship of Long Ten Tea Factory. Selected as a Designated Tea by the Yunnan Ethnic Tea Culture Research Association, it reflects both cultural heritage and high production standards.
Pressed into a classic 357g round cake, the tea is composed of carefully chosen sun‑dried maocha from Yunnan’s high‑mountain regions. The wrapper features a traditional blue dragon motif — a symbol of purity, vitality, and auspicious energy — paired with the official 2023 designation band.
Tasting Profile
Aroma: Fresh, bright, and floral with hints of wild honey, orchid, and mountain herbs.
Flavor: Clean and lively with a youthful Sheng character — notes of apricot, sugarcane, and light minerality. Early steeps are crisp and energetic; later infusions become rounder, sweeter, and more mellow.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, lightly astringent, with a refreshing cooling sensation.
Finish: Long, sweet, and uplifting — a classic sign of quality raw Pu‑erh.

Brewing Instructions (Gongfu Style)
For the best expression of aroma, sweetness, and texture.
1. Prepare Your Teaware
Proper setup ensures clean flavor and full aroma release.
- Use a gaiwan (100–150 ml) or small teapot
- Rinse all teaware with hot water
- Break off 6–8 grams of tea from the cake
2. Wake the Leaves
A quick rinse opens the aroma and removes surface dust.
- Pour 95°C water over the leaves
- Immediately discard the rinse
- Smell the warmed leaves to appreciate the aroma
3. Start Brewing
Short infusions highlight the tea’s bright Sheng character.
- Use 90–95°C water
- Steep for 10–15 seconds for the first 3 infusions
- Increase time gradually (20–30 seconds) as the leaves open
4. Continue Infusions
Sheng Pu‑erh evolves beautifully over multiple steeps.
- Expect 8–12 infusions depending on leaf quality
- Later steeps become sweeter and smoother
- Adjust steeping time to taste
5. Optional: Western Brewing
A simpler method for larger cups.
- Use 3–4 grams per 300 ml
- Brew at 90–95°C for 2–3 minutes
- Suitable for casual drinking
Storage Tips
- Keep in a cool, dry place
- Avoid strong odors
- Allow natural airflow (do not seal airtight)
- Ideal aging temperature: 20–25°C
